Hafertepe Jr. Looking to Take Momentum into Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown

Inside Line Promotions – SUNNYVALE, Texas (Dec. 28, 2015) – Sam Hafertepe Jr. will make his 2016 debut this Friday during the opening round of the 2nd annual Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.
The $12,000-to-win, $1,000-to-start feature is the first of five races in nine days at Cocopah Speedway in Somerton, Ariz., where Hafertepe Jr. hopes to capitalize on a lot of success with car owner Keith Dobbs toward the end of last season.
“We just hope we bounce back to where we were before,” Hafertepe Jr. said. “We feel like we found a good combination with what we had. Hopefully in Arizona our car is working like it was at the end of last year.”
Hafertepe Jr. ended the season by scoring 12 top-10 finishes in his final 15 races. He finished last season with six victories and is pushing to start 2016 on the right foot by reaching Victory Lane at the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown.
“With all the guys they have involved they do a really good job,” he said. “It’s a great series to do in the winter time. It’s good for everybody.”
Hafertepe Jr. capped the 2015 edition with a fourth-place result, which was his best finish during the inaugural event.
In addition to Friday’s race, the Winter Heat Sprint Car Showdown features races on Saturday, Jan. 5 and Jan. 8-9.
