Hafertepe Jr. Aiming for Trip to Victory Lane at Short Track Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – SUNNYVALE, Texas (Oct. 26, 2015) – Sam Hafertepe Jr. has one objective this week during the 28th annual Comp Cams Short Track Nationals.
“We’re going there to win and I think we have a great chance to do that,” he said.
Hafertepe Jr. and car owner Keith Dobbs have recorded six victories together since teaming up in late July. This week’s Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., is the next test.
“Our first few wins this season came in regional action, but our last victory was during an ASCS National Tour event so that gives us confidence that we can beat the same guys who will be racing at Short Track Nationals,” he said. “It’s a track we’ve done well at so hopefully we can put together a strong weekend and be in contention on Saturday.”
The competition begins on Wednesday with the Short Track Nationals Open. Hafertepe Jr. will return to the quarter-mile bullring on Thursday for his preliminary night before the Short Track Nationals wraps up with a $15,000-to-win feature on Saturday.
“Our goal is to get locked into Saturday’s feature by finishing in the top three on our prelim night,” he said. “If we can do that we’ll be in a great position to compete for the overall win.”
Hafertepe Jr. enters the event with four wins, seven podium finishes and 12 top 10s in his last 13 races.
