Sam Brings Home Two More Top Tens

Following the Knoxville Nationals, World of Outlaw driver Sam Hafertepe Jr. takes the PlumbFast Racing Team up North to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND. With an impressive beginning to the evening qualifying 2nd quick in the lineup, Sam finishes fifth in the heat which allowed him a chance to advance his starting position for the Main. Sam finished 8th in the Dash which put the GH Plumbing J&J Chassis on the fourth row of the Main Event. Sam raced his way up to sixth to give the PlumbFast Team their 12th top ten finish with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws. The next race in Gillette, WY showed some consistency for Hafertepe, Sam was able to qualify in the number 2 slot, race his way up to 2nd in the heat and with the 5th place finish in the Dash guaranteed Sam to start on the inside of the 3rd row for the Main Event. Unfortunately, due to the rain beginning to fall, the Main Event did not carry on and the remainder of the Event was cancelled. No makeup date will be scheduled for the Gillette, Wyoming Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws show.

With only one day off on the schedule it was back at it again to compete in Mandan, ND. Sam started the night out right setting a 10th quick time for the GH Plumbing J&J Chassis. Throughout the Heat Race, Sam unfortunately connected with another racer sending him to the back of the field and finished in the 7th position not transferring directly into that Main Event. Sam then had to run the Semi to make it into that precious Main Event. Hafertepe rocked the Semi coming out on top and transferred into the Main Event. Sam fell back just one spot in the Main and finished out the evening in the thirteenth position. No time to rest, it was off to the next race in Minot, ND. Sam qualified just under 3 tenths outside the pole position in the 12th spot to start out the night. Hafertepe transferred through the Heat Race and into the Main Event. Starting 14th, Sam raced his way inside the top ten until he unfortunately spun sending the GH Plumbing J&J Chassis to the rear of the field for the restart. On the restart, Sam put the elbows up and drove through the field and finished the night in the 13 spot.

One more race in Billings, MT then it was off to Canada for a two day show in Edmonton, Alberta. Sam qualified inside the top twenty in the 17th spot and raced his way up to fifth in the Heat. Starting in the rear for the Main Event, Hafertepe was able to charge forward up to the 17th position throughout the super dusty and chewed up race surface. Sam started the two day event in Edmonton transferring to the Main Event through the heat race by finishing in a very respectable 3rd place. Starting 20th in the Main, Sam put the GH Plumbing J&J Chassis up to the 14th spot. On the second night of the double header, Hafertepe and the Crew set a ninth quick time to begin the evening and with the second place finish in the heat, Sam and the Gang were able to make it into the Dash. Finishing 10th in the Dash, put the GH Plumbing J&J Chassis on the outside of the fifth row for the Main Event and the Finale for the Canadian Double Header. Hafertepe finished out the night giving the PlumbFast Racing Team their 13th top ten finish with the Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws.

Next up on the schedule for Hafertepe is a two day event Alger, WA followed by a pair of singles in Elma, WA and Cottage Grove, OR. After that is one of the biggest races of the year held in Chico, CA for the 55th Annual Gold Cup. Hafertepe and the gang will be competing against the best in the business all charging for that 50 Large.
